When the muffler fell off
of my VW Rabbit
on my uphill winding rock filled
snow covered driveway in Alaska,
two proverbial Alaskan auto repair items
came to the rescue...
duct tape and bailing twine,
which I always kept in the trunk
and in the cabin
for any and all
emergency repairs.

When the door latches froze
at 40 below zero
and the doors on my diesel pickup
wouldn't shut,
bailing twine and duct tape
put me back on the road again.

When the latch on the fridge broke,
yes, you guessed correctly.
Grey duct tape.

And when the astronauts
in their high tech mobile units
zipping around in outer space
have an emergency?
You guessed it,
duct tape
saves the day.

Duct tape.
Don't leave home
without it.

I remember my first car was a VW Beetle and I lost parts all the way up a washboard hill late at night. I was in highschool, and though I am also from the land of duct tape, I didn't have any. i hated that car from that time on -- but I still live in the land of Midnight Sun, Nirvana of Duct Tape lovers.

have me laughing like crazy right now...

When I was in the Navy, NO one left port
without a plentiful supply of duct tape..
Oh but the devious things one can do with
a fresh roll of it...gray, green or red..
no matter the color...

And for many years, even as an adult, I thought it was duck tape! Could never understand why! I suppose it was a case of from one bird to another.
