The Mountain In Between

You came to me again last night
but as handsome as you were
you couldn't move the wind...
I know it's over now, for sure.

Not for a second did I ache
for your touch nor did I shake
within your blue-eyed gaze-

what had once empowered you
spoke the words "you coward, you"
as it left in evening's haze.

Now it's you who's restless,
longing for just one more time-
but no, I just can't feel it,
much too old to climb
the mountain in between.

Most excellent Dixie...
Hugs~Nancy

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Dixie, you really are walking your talk! You continue to grow strong and more self-empowered with each passing day ~ and write!

Lovely photo of both you and your daughter!

"you couldn't move the wind..."

What a gem that line is and a sure sign it's over. Great work passing shadows.

Your not too old, you're strong enough to

climb that mountain...But, Why bother

venturing old mountain tops- when there are

so many new ones to explore!!!

Good one Miss Dixie.

Dixie...

The strengths you are continuing to exhibit
only show us what we already knew...

just know we are so danged grateful that you...

found it too.

Hugging you warming...

Dear Dixie, you write wonderfully from the heart always, you expose your soul and free your demons, and doesn't that feel great.
Much enjoyed my friend, stay well and happy.

Sincerely
Rick
