Blinded by the outer shell
hearing only the cracking
of the driven, searching for
the piece that fits the puzzle
reasoning always
getting in the way
begrudging tomorrow's tests
hiding behind the naiveness
wishing away the pain of trying
in this broken world
that weighs down with the
possibility of failure...

life can be so tiring~~

"hiding behind the naiveness"
always seems safer
until reality pokes through

I agree: sad but true. Well-written as well.

Hey Lee, just got the syllabus for the course I take next week to get re certified in teaching and it is a bit overwhelming plus the books aren't in yet and I wanted to read ahead of time to prepare myself after years of not being in any formal educational class... you know it's that fear that rises that tells me I might not succeed...and then what???

sighing~~

without the risk of failure
there'd be no joy when we succeed
