Resting In Jupiter’s Path

Two poles tug a golden rope pulled tight
As silence succumbs to muted night
The harmonics of logic and passion trail off
Distant, to threads of thinnest peace

Unending, the pulse that cannot cease, syllable by syllable
Enchanting the pines, mere shadow puppets
Waving acknowledgement as if digits of gray
Softly to sway, the melodic layering of still

Out of sight brews sensations, quick silver the trill
A prayer left unanswered and unaltered its quest
Refusing extinguish in the fire child’s chest
Arriving in shadow, behind builds the murmur, breathing

Breathing
Fasting

Growing hungry for sound
Moving stars all around, to slip beyond their grasp
Holding tight each end of sanity, subtle moments gasp
Moving on the forward ache of changing axis

Solar waves that light concaves to form
Resting near the feet of Jupiter by storm

the passion and the fire
and the serenity of being quiet
