Sing Me A Song About Charlie

~*Marge Tindal*~

Oh, sing me a song about Charlie
before he went off to the war
Sing me a song … bring his memory home
though Charlie won’t be home anymore~

Buried deep in a sand-covered heap
Charlie laid down his life for us all
For the freedoms I know … all the Charlie’s I owe
because they answered this nation’s call~

So sing me a song about Charlie
Tell of his valor and his might
Sing to me … a haunting melody
of Charlie before the fight~

Bring him back home to this country
that honors the fact that he paid
the ultimate price for our freedom
over this land where Charlie’s body now lays~

Thank God for Charlie, and other men and women like Charlie.
Beautiful tribute.

You sure have a way with words. This is a beautiful tribute. It is so sad to think of all the lives that were lost, while fighting for our freedom.

Dear Marge:  Very fitting poem for today! What a huge debt we owe to all the Charlie's who have gone to war for us!

Thank you, Marge, for this very well written and very sentimental tribute to all of those who gave their lives for the freedom that we know and so very much enjoy.

God bless.
