Popsicle
in its blue and white wrapper
I crack its core
against the brick corner
raise it up
for inspection
for the fairness of the break
you choose first
your half
may be slightly bigger
my little sister
this is our communion
romping with purple tinged
tongues
all the way home.

You know nancy, I read your poems about you and your sister, and wish that my sister had wanted to be close to me.

You made me remember how my older brother would share with me.  He always took care of me and looked out for me.  Thank you for this lovely gift.

This brings back memories Tinker.  I was pretty good at using brick corners to split the goods.  I loved the grape flavour too.

Cute picture, and I sure can identify with the poem and the breaking of popsickles between sisters!  Iliana and I shared a lot of popsickles growing up, too!  A nice remembrance this is!

Thanks for the adorable image. Though I'm just a bit too old for popsickles, this makes me grateful I have a younger brother I can still share other things with.

I loved the poem and there is no advice I could give you to change it because I loved the whole thing! By the way, I'm new here and to writing poetry so I'd love it if you would critique some of my work.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww ..... Nancy Lee, I am so glad that I found this before heading back out to the campground. What wonderful childhood memories this has brought forth. We are certainly blessed to still have each other ....  and purple popsicle smiles.
Although, I do recall a time when in order to stop my ice cream cone from dripping, you magically made most of it disappear!!
I love you and miss you. hugs, Chris
