busted flat
   Janis could have sung
       the Gaza blues
on a level both sides
   might have understood

Gaza...stripped
of its power

and soldier Shalit sits (maybe)
the pawn in a cruel chess game
where everyone is checkmated
but no one ever wins

and peace
    is an elusive dream

listen to the missiles scream
screaming the days and nights
into oblivion

and the Strip teems
with scenes of horror
and despair

Be glad you are not there
within the 28 miles
of desperate Palestinians in the dark
juxtaposed
alongside thousands of Israelis
who suffer year after year, day and night
knowing some want them
buried for eternity

and Janis could have sang
the Gaza/Israeli blues
and you would have felt
each drop of blood
oozed by missiled notes
as the chance of

P
E
A
C
E

bleeds away

and my heart sings the blues

thanking Kris Kristofferson for the write
Janis Joplin for the heartbeat song 'Bobby McGee'
that I was listening to
while reading of today's
Gaza turmoil

Nice rendition about the ongoing conflict over the Gaza strip. And that brings the question, Will there ever be peace over that land?

Welps anyways, loved it!

thanks, blue shadow
my ears remember the sound
and my body, the vibration, the FEEL
of Katyusha rockets
tearing apart soils and souls

You are indeed universally challenged
in all that goes on;

thank you for sharing your thoughts,
always...

Yes, but Janis could not have sung them better than you Kacy.

Thank you for this.
