The Fly on the Wall
06/29/06

Sometimes I wish that I was as invisible as a ghost
just floating along the walls of my life
looking inside the room bolted and locked
just like the fly in the corner of the ceiling
gazing at the scene unfolding before me
with eyes that gleamed with a glassy glow

And just as the shean started to wane
a thought probed my mind
like a worm in the dirt it unearthed the truth
so as I turned back to the immaculate room
the spell was disenchanted and I saw a new light
and with this new view I zeroed in on the people

Staring into the windows to the  blurred faces
I tentatively stepped forward, shaking ever slightly
and with that small move the bolt started to shift
so with every step my confidence did grow
until finally I sprinted torwards the glass door
and with just one push the door fell unhinged

And it was then that my nerves started again
but this time around I wasn't afraid
for now I'd taken a step in the right direction
and by walking through the thresh hold
I smiled so bright
for in face of the fear I stepped into life

Wow.  You are truly amazing. That's all I really have to say.  I don't know what to say, actually... other than that this was very well done.  I have a favorite line for you though!!!

"and by walking through the thresh hold

for in face of the fear I stepped into life"

Great job!

I really do like your rendition of the fly on the wall.
I wrote one with the same title a few years ago.  It was written about one of the members here on PIP.
(She just never figured it out! LOL.)

Nice write.
