~
I pray death be quick and quiet

not given a chance to deny it
and no time to incite a riot
may the grip be tight
so I cannot pry it

I pray death be quick and quiet.

Dixie,
And I pray it's not in a hurry.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Amen....and a two-hands-up vote for that "not soon" idea!

This is what I hope for, too. No, long drawn out, with a lot of suffering, first.

To fall asleep...

would be a blessing.

Not too soon, mind you...

Dixie...Hopefully not any time soon...Paul

To dream a dream
in Heaven be
I close my eyes
and sleep peacefully

Let death come
as I sleep
I pray the lord
my soul to keep

I think I would like to see it coming . . .
but "gently, into that goodnight".

You know. Sometimes I feel I want to be frail and tiny, so someone could just hold me in a big 'ole rocking chair and rock me to sleep. Must be something held over from baby hood when I was a three and a half   pound premature infant.LOL. You Are Loved.

I very much like this poem. I like the contruction, the subject matter and like everyone else, I wish you this wish many years down the road.

... There is no normal life Wyatt, just life ... so live!

Hi Dixie, I do understand this, too easy to think of, but never the answer, none know what does await. It might be that we all hold hands together when that time comes and have no chance to escape it.
Good write my friend, but I think that is life that has its grip on you and you have to stay with us all for years yet.

Be well my friend with mind to live and love.

Sincerely
Rick
