seed in rich dark earth
growing,reaching for the sky
smooth silvery bark

water flows over
exploring dark crevices
shaping the pebble

stars litter the sky
flickering,disapearing
as hopes and dreams die

a great rushing roar
your mind is taken over
by the waterfall

More great artistry with the 17 syllable form, but a question: what makes the first two, especially the first one, senryu rather than haiku? Great poems in any case.

It's my understanding that haiku is about nature. Senyru can be about any subject. This is very good in any event. I love senyrus!!

I think senryu deal with humanity in a sarcastic or ironic way.
