Listening to every heart

Summer Ought Six

Seasonally superb
for this western sun

burning right ear
while facing southerly
as rain drops,
pelting this window
with bows…

steam rises from concrete streets
while thundering booms grovel and unravel
a storm’s blessing
on dry parch.

to Paper a Poem

~*~

There were three wee bodies
of papered-skin wing and furry form
stretched along the parkway this morning;

I love them for their hunting of
irritant buzzers, and wondered at this sight;
worried of rabid bodies;
hurt for them, seemingly small babies;
but likely adult…

where are their babies?

I am as helpless for them
as I am with the rest of the world.

~*~

Death came to my door today.
Yet,
I pray.

Goodness, not only are you extremely creative
at the moment, but you are also extremely
sensitive at the moment as well...
and your mind sees so many things right
now...

Life goes on. After it ends, I mean...on and on forever. What we call death is merely a change....from water to land, if you will, or perhaps it's closer to say the change from land to the freedom of air.

Birds had to be lightened in order to fly, their bodies, scales, even their bones changed from the heaviness of lizards...lighter, quicker, more energetic...and so must we, in order to step over the edge of things and fly into what is beyond. So, with some sadness for us and for those we're parted from for a while, we leave our heaviness behind....and rise.

"Death came to my door today.
Yet,
I pray."

A perfect ending!

Understanding
is in the heart of the living
though life can seem harsh
Love is in the heart of the one praying
when the living appears lost.

This is a heart breaker, SIL, very artistically styled.  I liked the raindrops that pattered into bows...that line...wow.  Also, shows that big heart of yours.  Don't we all wish the world to be right........*hugs*....jo

Wow...K.  I read this several times and found something I missed each time.  Don't be surprised if I go back for a few more readings.

You are impressive...girlfriend.  But you knew that.
