when you were in lady skin
did you kneel at the whisper tree
did your eyes water like dew wet
as you bathed in imagination

did you feel the smooth stones
there under the nonchalant
where your knees were slow to run
and your hands glued to prayers

you spoke of demons and your hunger
to mouth their names in rhymes
to press them into your wound
til the healing is ruined again

you wore begged liquor on your lips
and your fingers were painted
til they were gloved drunken
but still you favored the dark

with secrets of white modesty

when you were in lady skin
did you kneel at the whisper tree
did your eyes water like dew wet
as you bathed in imagination

....oh yes, a thousand times....

did you feel the smooth stones
there under the nonchalant
where your knees were slow to run
and your hands glued to prayers

yes, prayer of thanks for the moment

you spoke of demons and your hunger
to mouth their names in rhymes
to press them into your wound
til the healing is ruined again

welp, some of us tend to feel we need to self persecute....guilt I suppose

you wore begged liquor on your lips
and your fingers were painted
til they were gloved drunken
but still you favored the dark

yes, b/c no matter how dark, when the light comes, it comes two fold...stonger, clearer

with secrets of white modesty

What?  oh, you didn't write this for me????   Silly me...and here I was so wrapped up in each and every word...

thanks for the morning brillance....
