I light the wick...

Look into your eyes, so far away.
Memories of your lips.

A puddle forms in the wax.

My face turns pale;
white as the candle just lit.

The sides fold in.

Stomach churns.
All too familiar.

Bead of wax, drips so slow.

Memories of your arms wrapped around me.
Holding you as you slipped away.

A warm breath, the light flickers.

The brief extinguish reflecting in your eyes.
For just a second, you're here with me again.

The flame, now stable, burns steadily for you.

Strong, very strong. I felt the loss in this the last breath the dying of the light.

Heart wrenching and powerful in the vision you create and the feelings your words evoke....*big hugs*

A scent of jasmine just filtered itself through the open window, and I thought I caught the flicker of a candle flame as I read this.

You've caught the eyes of a poet
in wonder of a photo
while lighting a
memory

quite well.
