Monday Mornings

I struggle through Sunday night to find Monday
And try to reconsider that promise of Friday
To love myself for what the Heaven’s deemed me to see,
Instead of hating myself for what I cried myself to be---
A figment of reflections through the eyes of strangers,
Made more painful by the truer eyes of my soul,
Who fails to see even a shadow of hero or lover,
That happiness once dreamed upon me to believe…

This is nice I can kind of feel what u r saying from a personal experience however, though not exactly but with the some of the imagery I get short flashes...good job keep writing elevation is the key

love those lines...I had/have a craft business called "Rainy Days 'n Mondays"
( partially after the song) but also because I struggle to find my Mondays too.

Nicely done

we cannot live up to the expectations of others...what we can do is find our own world and be true to it...
used to find myself feeling the same way, you've captured this with true images and great use of words....

Compelling, the fortitude required to ride the storms of the heart, through the two-day excursion, we call..."weekend".

High quality verse...provoking emotion is the goal of the poet.

Welcome to Monday!
Nice to read you.
