A battle with myself
Against myself
In myself.

My own worst enemy -
A mirror image.
Distorted mind ravings.

The cost of my desire
The flames I use
To consume me - higher.

Staring into the abyss -
Staring back through
I nside my soul.

Fawned face so innocent
Just a wolf under control.

The demon inside me
Grabs a-hold..

Oh, this is beautiful. Plus, the wolf is my favorite animal; always a bonus.

Welcome to piptalk. I'm gonna enjoy reading you, I'm certain...

I was once told that my mind was my own
worst enemy....

I think this poem says much the same thing.

I think this is good, not as expressionistic as I thought after the first stanza but defintely a good read...the wolf? I still dont understand why..the wolf? but regardless this was still nice...Good job...elevation is the key.

Serena~
Welcome to PiP~

Intriguing ... and I can certainly understand why you would choose the wolf to
express yourself so creatively~

Enjoy your stay ... there are many fine and talented poets here~

Nice exploration of the underside of the tapestry. I particularly liked the image of a "wolf under control." :-) Encore!

A poem's just a poet in a word.
