Where are you when rains fall
and waters wash the distant shore?
When castles touch the clouds
of earth...before our birth of yore.

Where is the tingle of flesh
that touches me, that brings
forth a haunting want, a
wanton destiny?

Where will the skies remain
most clear, as starlights fall
into the sea? bringing a
blush to ruby lips....their
touch my wish...you see.

Why does the earth revolve
and leave the moon in wait?
Soaring ever lazily...as hunger
aches to sate.

So many questions that touch
the night time air....whispers
that remain behind....once
clothed, alone and bare.

I love your night time whispers, dear Barry!

Beneath the starlight we are more inclined to bare our soul!

Very sad, but also a journey into the thoughts behind the life of a person. In thoughts not only is their sadness, and questions, but there is always a light of hope. Excellent poem, I enjoyed it very much.

Dear Very Barry....So many questions...they are life's steps I think...though sad the way at times.  Beautiful heart spill!

How any woman could even want to leave you, is beyond my comprehension, firstly for the good person you are, secondly for your sensitivity, thirdly for your compassion, fourthly for your intelligence, fifthly for your ability to write excellent poetry, sixthly for your ability to be non-Hallmark card romantic and seventhly for your animal slippers.  If you didn't write poetry to her, or if you did and didn't show it to her, then that was a huge mistake.  This is an exquisite poem, superbly written, and as you see, it has you holding all of us PiP women in the palm of your hand!

He waits beyond the garden's reach
and falls before the dim of day.
His quest to hear her written speech
and feel the softness of her sway.

I was sure I read this before but maybe got lost in my reply inspired by such a heartfelt, moving piece, and simply forgot to put it down

BJ -- There's a Judy Collins' recording I bet you'd like called, "The Moon's a Harsh Mistress;" I think the song was originally written, maybe recorded, by Jimmy Webb.  It speaks to the illusive beauty of the moon....lovely and sad, like this beautiful piece you've written.  *hugs*....jo

*SIGH*

Don't bring me down now,
let me stay here for awhile
You know life's too short,
let me bathe here in your smile.
