T-the teenage pressure
having sex to be cool in school
and doing drugs to high
only to get attention from the other girls and guys
who already leading their life
in the wrong direction

R-rushing to be grown
thinking your ready to live on your own
cause your tired of being under your mama's rules
when they only teach you right
Someday you'll learn...

O-outstanding grades you let slip
because you want to be cool
and I'm telling you it ain't worth it

U-

B-back to start is where
you'll have to go when
you decide to make something
of your life after you dropped out
And after you disappointed your family

L-life, something you let waste away
because of the drugs to get high
the sex to be cool,
and the grades you let slip
the diploma you didn't recieve,
and the love you didn't respect
from family who depended
on you to make them proud and
you disappionted them

E-employment, something you won't have
and that results of
the house you can't own,
the love you didn't give
the car you can't buy,
the life you won't live and
the struggles you will encounter
all because of people you call "friends"
who wasn't nothing but TROUBLE.

That's the word I'm looking for and thats what I'm asking you to stay out of.

Welcome Paradise1 to Pip! Thank you for sharing this thought provoking first poem.

This TROUBLE is surely something many can sadly relate to ... parents and teenagers!

It's good to try to open their eyes, but most of them will become aware of what's wrong and what's right, hopefully in time!

Many teenagers refuse to do anything for the satisfaction and pride of their parents and this may also be right, but they should want to do it for themselves.

Love,
Margherita

And so it those we live with
and should know who elude us
But we can still love them
we can love completely
without complete understanding

This is an excellent first post...one that
many parents can relate very well to.  Far
to often words land on deaf ears and we are
nothing more than a source of what is
wanted....usually takes about 30 plus years
to get figured out...sometimes much much
longer...I know too well...I have one that
is 35...and hasn't figured it out yet.

But, we never stop loving them...
