in my search

found by you was heaven sent
not found by my looking, or busy curiosity
but instead by a well beaten path
over clay, sand, and polished stone,
and many years lent
at first i was ashamed of my sutured life
every cell of my being sewn to inequity
and non-repentance
now proclaimed: “henceforth antiquity…”
a warmth echoing within exquisite halls of marble,
and chambers of borrowed elements
and rainbow tiffany
a rebirth in pouring rain atop a fashioned tree,
of blood, flesh, wine, and spirit,
and nails of rusted steel
an end to a life and yet a birth anew
its circular line terminates at its very creation
as a vector reciprocated by unmated laws
my understanding at best: well intended intellect-
a feature billed at a brothel
well hidden within the city walls
in my search He found me
if i was a god i could not have been lost
yet i was, and being lost, i was found
because He is looking for the lost.
in my search He found me
move you hands and uncover your eyes
He is looking for you too…

JL, you've been very prolific lately,
and I thank Him for that, and you.

Some excellent words have been flowing...
I hope the river flows on...

I surely did enjoy this, JL!  I firmly believe that we owe it to ourselves to "search" even though we may never find (while alive, as it were) the absolute truth and, as sure as my name is Helen, He ensures that the search takes place at the right time and in the right manner.  The ladder is long - one rung at a time and a rest in between ... to think and absorb the "intent" of what we are shown and then apply it as best we can in this rather "unfeeling" world we live in. Oh, I think I stumbled onto a soap box - sorry.  Great write, JL!
