Dancing in the Dark

I often dance within the dark
The singing of a playful lark
Soft metaphor upon the floor
A bare foot dance of mental awe

I twirl within my memory cast
Those shadows of an early past
That touches me a gentle breeze
And blushes me with pink of tease

A ghost conducts a batons will
Phantoms play a misty frill
And ecstasy that falls like rain
Sweeps upon my whimsy brain

I am a captive of a dawn
Of magic dew of early morn
Of spirits lacing me a shawl
A moment in a dreamer’s ball

Those moment’s of my ecstasies
All flowers of my fantasies

One more spin around the floor Sy?
What a beautiful piece to read first thing this morning.
I shall dance through the day now.

Sy....Such memories you have brought me, of me dancing on my father's feet to that song when I was his little sweetpea so long ago.
Thank you!

At 4:40 a.m I find myself dancing to the rhythm of your poem and thinking how much I love the colors that color the sky at dawn and paint my slow awakenings.

Is it fantasy to think how roses smile in the light and 4 o'clocks fold in the sun, but bloom all night?

This is exquisite, dear Seymour. Nothing like dancing, even in the dark or within our fantasies, to uplift our spirits.

I really believe that human beings are meant to dance, our bodies and hearts wish to express grace ... and when we succeed in this we are able to truly love life.

Thank you!

Love and hugs.
