Rewrite:

Shy

When left alone I write a poem
When face-to-face I have no grace
I titillate a secret whim
But occupy a silent space

I am a bore down to the core
Just ill at ease with shaky knees
My mind in store quotes nothing more
When people quote I simply freeze

I do reach out I almost shout
You see it clearly in my eyes
My voice goes in instead of out
And no one hears my silent cries

But I laugh and smile all the while
And listen all the things that’s said
I nod my head with wisdoms guile
But often wish that I were dead

I’ve built a dyke to hold the flood
And froze my feet in silent mud
