Clementine Upon the Wind

22 June 2006

Ahead was flight
yet what of wings
Was it this, nature was to provide
to fly forth and welcome joy

Whether in heights of a mountain top
or towers built by man
This beginning of time
as to hands touching in an ethos of hope

An electrifying reality, or a closing dawn
that sunrise, or summer held over from winter
Much to a flower in bud, a rose ready to open
toward the humble daisy, wildflowers to the wind

Dandelion seeds, or thistle tufts
one man’s weed, that of a woman’s love
Amour, a heart beating in relevance
Clementine, her fragrance in flight upon the wind

“In real life, unlike in Shakespeare, the sweetness of the rose
depends upon the name it bears. Things are not only what they are.
They are, in very important respects, what they seem to be.”
Hubert H. Humphrey (1911 - 1978)
US politician, Vice-President USA 1965-69

Beautifully expressed.

Indeed things change depending on how we look at them.

Love,
