Given to Speculation

With twist of moment
she stumbles-
blind sighted,
stunned by his admission-

Reverse decision.

Words,
few in between
but unforseen.

And her beast breathes

First,

in bothersome batting of chatter

To and fro -

Why?
Why not?

How could she know?

And it grows.

While left cries out poignant pleas for silence,
Right reckons her possibilities,
which quickly make transformation-
reincarnation,
Given to speculation.

Rounding full circle-
soaring,

then descending.

Making its way,
Stalking its prey.

To feed upon
her indelicacies-

Simmering stew of inadequacies.

Once removed from fire long ago,
but robust again.
How could she know?

And it grows...

This beast-

molded in her image
penned in her name

With no other to blame...

Defeated,
She bows her head in shame-

Given to speculation.

Dear Patricia, how nice it is to read you!

This is high level poetry and the incomplete evidence brings forth a powerful suspense.

Love,
Margherita

ps I have just realized that we were on each other's poems contemporaneously ... lovingly connected! Thank you!

Patricia~
I've read this several times ...
I find a deep melancholy steeped in the ink~

It is so very well penned~

So good to see you on these pages of blue~
