I couldn’t sing along
sky echoes kept calling me
to the tune of different words
always different?
so i left and went inside
stayed there for quite some time
passers by, took me for dead

inside the trance, i turned the pages
dropping used issues to the ground
finding vibrancy on frozen concrete
watching parking lots filling up
like circular playgrounds

or looking past, scraping false giggles
cold, dark, rough cheeks that condescend
my night hobby shop,
was a plastic bag, to some
merely good-natured instinct
walking on
didn’t stop to hear woman telling women
that all men were scum,
or men telling men that
all women were play things

there was sense in facing the cold
going it alone…
the way home was back past dark roads
which offered turns,
so i stepped into the blackness
planting seeds that i found, firmly in soil
dirt under my nails
grunge between my toes…

people laughed, spouting out something
like i was poor…but I…I persevered
the stone ground &
tire marks on my ears…

all was warm and gold,
revealing incredible detail
color painting wavelets
of rivers,
oceans with
bright colored eyes…
they said, “don’t, you might
not survive”,
but i stopped just to listen
to what i purchased
to be my own,
swimming
in uncharted waters…
setting my own course, growing my own old...

knowing quit well, morning walks alone
were
with the owl, truly looking through the looking glass
with hot footed crocodiles
and dreams of
ridiculous men
who couldn't find their own coats
I saw
gentle spirits held ransom
for lottery tickets & little clouds

few words stored in my pocket, that might
have crumbled to the ground, if I’d been afraid
to lean back on my thoughts, pulling out
chairs
tapping on the forest of life
placing a green velveteen lounge
in my living room

I found
light is where we live,
what we believe & death of
voice
is a dark convenience store
that fools rob for their own

mankind is always searching for
something, someone to believe in?
I found my someone, something....

There is no limit to your exploring capacities and no limit to your incredible creativity with words.

I am fascinated.

Unbelievable mind imagery.

My favorite stanza was....

quote:
I found
light is where we live,
what we believe & death of
voice
is a dark convenience store
that fools rob for their own

In reflection of the above;

You, my poetess friend, have certainly found your inner voice and you are letting it shine and it is (it is) reaching us right where we live.

Thank you.

oh leeJ!
this rocks my night
right into another realm
and I thank you,
for sharing such a unique
human landscape,
a veritable kaleidescope
of colors and textures
cast in the glow
of an artist's eyes

~am keeping this one, m'lady~
