Purgatorial Incarceration

submerge this river in silence,
to shadow a rock in tears

- i am stone, granite,
i do not crumble... only chip.

solidity is illusion,
a mirage dancing atop whispering waves and
challenging Darkness to cull foam from the tips,
so we can breathe depths otherwise unseen.

    i am this river,
ever-flowing,
ever-changing,
ever-caressing the depths,
communing with imaginary creatures,
while we drown our loves
     in the sorrow of i n s t a b i l i t y

Whoa! Wow! That is one fine piece of poetry in motion! An ocean of emotion!

Deep! Powerful! ~ and very poetically expressed! You 'rock'!

Good to read your words again, Christopher!

oh how I wish I wrote that!!!

Hey C...Im moth giddy...
a post from both you and M, in the same day.

I like this style on your pen...a little different than your "usual" ...but your poetry is always evolving...like the river.*S*

Make that three of my favorite poets in one day!

I wasn't sure about the spacing of "instability" but I think now it's a very effective device and lends emphasis to your point and doesn't distract.

So your "rock" beats my scissors--but as all poets know--PAPER rules. At least when you write your poetry on it.
