A light fog drifted lazily landward.
Hugging the warm earth as a loon
called across the bay....

It was this time when he found the
treasures of his gift.  This time when
thoughts lingered on a love that
once tickled his fancy....This time
when lips brushed lightly and eyes
gleamed brightly and golden embers
popped and soared into the night skies.

She had known his wants, his dreams, his
deepest desires.  And she had found
pleasure in the mystique of memorable
moments now but another ember
in a bed of coals.

The soft chime of a mahogany clock
stirred the still hand that lightly
held a worn pen, the ink within,
wanting to come forth and father
another poetic child.  A child born
from meteor trails, comet tails
and constellations that dotted a
night sky...

For it was the night that brought
her to him and the smell of her
skin fueled the fires of his passionate
words as the mists whispered softly
in his mind’s ear.

A beautiful love poem to savour and to linger on ...

You create that special atmosphere so well, dear Barry.

So very, very beautiful.  Now I know that the loon is your muse.

I had a moment to sneak back for another...no sooner read than the little one began crying with a boo boo toe. At least I was able to sink into the beauty of this treasure, albeit briefly.  This is lovely, Barry.  You know I think you are amazing!
