what are the right questions to ask

             to see us bask

in a relationship that's worth the task

of wading through misconceptions that mask

  my appreciation of your soul

    i'm so sorry i let my goal

of becoming your friend

cover up my inner qualities that i believe could've squeezed multiple grins

           from me and you

i may never be able to pursue

            your heart again

and the thought of which is so agonizing i can't even begin

         to express it in words

                       but

maybe if i persevere like Steve Urkel, one day, i'll be the nerd

                   you love
