~Dad..June 18th 1920-August 8th, 1996.~

.

With a wave of his wand and a tip of his hat
He would have bid us adieu
For this was essence, his passion, his joy
    Simply
what he loved to do.
No hoopla, no fanfare, for him
     no way...
But cheers for the magic
     of course!
He mastered illusions with timing and skill
Taking no credit for
    'The Force'
He made everyone into Believers
Captured the attention of young and old
He spun miracles all around us
With incredible stories and feats so bold.
He lived and loved a lifetime
And surely made Merlin proud
As a messenger of magic
Who lived his life
    out loud
There was no time for long goodbyes
But he may have preferred not to stay
To simply
disappear
before our eyes
Is surely the magical way!
I salute a life, a spirit
That changed all who crossed his wand
For Dad you were truly magical
And your legacy will live on.

.

~Happy Birthday Dad!
    We miss you.
~

NanceOfEnchantment~

You wave a pretty poetic wand yourself, my lady~

To have Father's Day and your father's birthday fall together is a very special cause for such tender remembers to fall from your pen~

This is poignant poetry my dear~
Touching ... so very touching~

He sure created two beautiful daughters~

He is in the wind today.
I felt him fan my hair and tickle me behind my ears. "Happy Birthday & Father's Day Dad" I whispered touching the air.

Yes Nancy and Chris, you both were and are
very lucky to have had a father such as he.
I have no doubt it would have been a pleasure
to watch one of his magic acts.

Nancy, I love the 'knowing' in this.  I would bet he is applauding one darling daughter right now!  I adored this! Sleight of hand and exit...but never slight of heart. (A very handsome man, too)

I remember reading a little of your father before.  It is good to learn more of this unique individual.  And yes, I believe their is a certain kind of magical energy in some peoples souls.  Your father seems like a person who would possess it.   A pleasure to read!

(angel friendship hugs) Awwwwwwww, is that what your wonderful father devoted his heart too, the beauty of magic? (smiles) I can certainly see how magic and imagination is sooooooo alive in your whole family, dearest friend, he must have gently tapped the tip of his wand on you and your sister's noses right when you were both born, so you would be blessed with the gift of enchanting the hearts of many through poetry and art, yay! (smiles) This is a most gorgeous dedication to your dearest dad, yay, God Bless You, and know his magic spark of warmth will always glisten through each heartbeat, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Nancy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I think all parents live so that their children will honor them throughout life ...and after.  I'm sure your dad was and is still proud of his daughters.  Hugs, Ken
