I’m looking through a window, but I often hate the view
Finding that I look away and dream of something new
But truth of life does make me turn and look at what I dread
So I can readjust my ways and clear what clouds my head

Life’s window often shows too much, when life is on the go
When time there’s simply not enough and chores they seem to grow
We look, but fun is hidden way behind what must be done
When looking through life’s window I so often want to run

The window might be just too small and visions shown, too short
So only through a want and dream, a moments joy is caught
To hold onto a vision that we captured in the mind
When looking through life’s window, seeing joy is hard to find

Often we may look but never see what we should see
The greener grass a little passed the place we seem to be
While others see right through the haze and find the door of cheer
The sight of some is cloudy, to others it is clear

So now I take the concept that views they come and go
That life is only showing us what little it does know
That we must venture down the path exploring what is new
Life’s window only gives a scene, but we can change the view

So look out through the window, then find the sun not rain
Give yourself the chance to be the all you love again
Find the rainbow and the gold, for there you’ll find you’re free
To look unto life’s window and love all that you see

Beautiful and uplifting ending, dear Rick.

We can change the way we look at things and things change and then we can act with enthusiasm to realize our dreams.

Love,

Rick,
What makes a good poem?  I don't have the definition except that if it moves me - it's good.

I have been unsettled these last few days, reading and searching my own heart.  It's a time to just be quiet, pensive and seek what needs to be changed from within.

Know what I mean?

Your poem reached out and just grabbed me.  It almost shouted -- See this is what you needed to read!  This is what you were seeking. --

Thank you.

aziza, I do know what you mean. I am so happy the poem meant something to you my friend, sharing inner thoughts through words creates a bond of sorts which we understand, great to see you here and hope the next few days will bring peace and answers. Be well and take care.

Sincerely
Rick
