Happiness in Small Doses

I have looked through the eyes of loneliness
Gliding curiously along its shadow
Experiencing the beauty of searching souls
When dreams of the heart’s desire
Are lavishly landscaped in moonlit rubies
Cutting through reality at odd like angles
With shard like beams of time and morning afterglow
Condensing projections upon many moments
Against the backdrop of pristine blue mountains
Transparently revealing my cautious footsteps
As I step on burning embers that prick as emotions
Jabbing a needle into the blind, ex-lovers and feelers of my tears
So we can all experience the pain of each other…

Some, have painted me a lover of passion and self
To which my scorpion nature, sadly accepts;
But truer to the exceptional love-maker are his words
That masks the darkness in sweet kisses and soft whispers,
Compelling her to question my terror of self and love,
To contemplate between the pleasure,
If I am confused or just a heartless man,
Sneaking under the skins of the unsuspected
As they peer into my closed eyes,
Feeling the loneliness and truth of man and poet,
Who loves and hates with words,
The sleeping will never awake to embrace.
