Listening to every heart

Step Printed

A hobnailed boot
or socked toes
carpenter’s cleave
of muscled know

High flown creed
or salt of ground
…these are the men
fathers, renown…

Manicured nails
or crusted quick
justice reigns
in moments thick;

golf club curl
or surgeon’s hand
some sons care
for mothers grand…

all the stages
of a boy
from his childhood
through his toys

most may be
a father, true
all came from
a boy, like you.

Footsteps given
some were followed;
hard times driven,
anger, swallowed…

For a moment,
sit back, enjoy…
age given memories
to a grown-up boy.

To my Sons-in-Law and my husband,
and the Male Poets of Passions….

Happy Father’s Day, Men.

That's nice.  It's hard to conceive that our Dad's,
who always seemed larger than life, were little boys once.

Wonderful thoughts and good wishes.

Sissie....all those men came from fathers of such diversity, becoming fathers perhaps, or poets it's true...a good way to remember is this poem from you!

Thank you for those most warming thoughts, Karilea.  As I reflect on a recent new grandson, watching my son as a new dad, all the things dads do or try to do comes back to me.  There are a couple of regretful thoughts, but most are good.  Hugs, Ken

Could it be any different than this, exactly as you have written?
Very true!
Thanks Sunshine.
