One life One Journal

What lesson is this living we call life?
Rudimentary, and enlightening?
Maybe one without the other,
or to some, much too frightening
to experiment, or explore
Non-the-less, we live it
as best we see fit
With apologies and with regret,
or not a single word
to express lament…

We win, we lose
We win a heart
We lose in love
And find a friend
Then it all too soon
We realize, must end.
Alone again,
where it always begins

Then we start anew
searching out the warmth
of sun and coral beach
rolling surf, and gusty winds.

Forgetting never
past helpful whim
to have lived simply
without hate as fringe
but with kindness and love
for foe and friend
well-wishing life,
over and over:
Beginning to end.

Life's lessons never cease I believe.
One can only try their best to be the kind of human being we would like others to be as well.
Nicely done.

JL...

if one should be inspired
by a passing shadow,
than I am very grateful
it was you.

Well done.

JL,

How anyone can put so much wisdom in words, I don't know.  Glad you do!  Enjoyed this keeper.  It brought back lots of memories, both bad (those have lost their punch now) and good.  Enjoyed!

Thanks all!!

passing shadows inspires thinking in what she writes.
She has a way of causing words to bubble-up to the surface.
But then, I’m sure all who read her know that fact.
I just couldn’t help it!  She made me do it!  LOL.

Again, thanks!!

Enjoyed this write JL.

"Alone again,
where it always begins"

Yes, quite right - we start and end alone.  Makes one wonder what it's all about sometimes.

JL, I'm keeping this one in my library with the select few treasures I've tucked away over the years.

To me, inspiring another is a poet's greatest achievement and the best compliment to receieve!

Thank you

a wonderful take from Passing's poem the other day which I had the priviledge to read.

Life is, in fact purpose, and this reinterates the strength in having faith in oneself first...otherwise, all else seems futile.

great great poem
