Music In My Mind

The sun shines on this road today.
I've been so tired of the rain.
Traveling music plays in my mind.
Memories of you begin to wane.

You'll probably end up hating me
but I see no need to say goodbye,
it would be too much of a struggle
for too less of a reason why.

I know how to go about change.
I guess it comes in its own time.
I was stuck for so long and now
I'm able to walk, to turn on a dime,
to leave this old life of mine behind,
and so I sing along
with the music in my mind.

Dixie,

I admire how you smoothly use old phrases (such as turning on a dime) to evoke imagines.  Yet, as old as they may be, the imagery becomes new and fresh. I like your style.
