Journey to Quetzacoatl

Once again a resolution
Surpassed by its opposite,
frigid in the will that cradled it.
Mere tumours of intent
like icicles over an open heart
unrequesting  of fullfilment
as if intention were infection.

A lighthouse goal that has
beaconed parasites to
ungrit it's core of volition...
ebbing into shadow...
rudderless to voyage fate.

And when the heart ceases
to murmur its canticles
of hope beyond silence,
it's facade of dreams
hieroglyphed in fractals of frost,
it is ripe for ascension to ingest
from the eyes of the serpent
the blood resonance of a universe
that beckons beyond
the Pyramids of the Sun.

I really enjoyed the last line. And I like that your poem had some history to it. Lets see, Quetzacoatl was the Aztec city? Or the god? Anyway, this piece was nicely  done.

Welcome, Troy. I enjoyed this high altitude climb into a unique space of rarified air and thoughts.

Thank you all very kindly for your response. Most of my writing is somewhat abstract and not easily understood so I appreciate the effort. I seldom submit poetry and prefer to respond to other offerings instead. I stopped writing a long time ago but haven't completely lost interest. Besides, there is alot of talent on this site so 'responding' is easy!
