Fading My eyes need aids, my hearing fades My legs have turned the hues of jades I watch the mirrors optic field And see the process at its yield My mind has culled prior’s plow And all that seems is here and know The tangents fly away from me I only see what sets my knee I fix my glasses on my nose And view the petals of each rose Lay them in my fields aware But often fall asleep in stare Horizons cook into a stew For what I see is mostly you You are the view and catch me pail In fact you are my Jonah’s whale And here I sit the bellies bend Just waiting for illusions end |
