Sing Me A Love Song

She brushed the dust off my old six string
then placed it in my hand.
She said sing me a love song
I know you still can.

Won't you sing me a tender love song
I don't care if you sing out of tune.
Sing a song about lovers
beneath the silvery moon.

Sing me a song about a happy home
where children are at play.
Sing me a love song please
and chase these blues away.

Wrap me in sweet words of love
and I know I'll be alright.
Sing me a song about butterflies
and stolen kisses in the night.

Sing me a song about holding hands
like lovers always do.
Sing me a song about a stary night
and what I mean to you.

Just sing me a love song please
you don't have to promise me the moon.
Just sing me a simple love song
I don't care if you sing out of tune.

Steve

I know you've got a love song within;
this is part of it.

Steven - I suppose the essence of love could be the not caring if the significant other sings out of tune or not as long as she sings.  Oh, you as well, of course.  Enjoyed the read very much.

Sweet as honey, this one, Steven.

"just an old-fashioned love song..."

It's more than just romance, isn't it, that mellowing of heart and the desire to live fully and share with a kindred spirit.  We write of heartbreak and tears, sing of them, too, but the love songs where the heart sings as well as the voice, are just incomparable.  It's what we hold forever.

I know you sing them.

Much enjoyed.
