Until the Bell Rings
06/09/06

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock
The clock ran down as brain cells died
all in the name of Graham and Avogrado
with their principles and laws benign
that shook the brain until the heart died out
20-19-18-17-16

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock
The math weighed on and racked my soul
knocking me down on the flat of my back
and with this perspective I saw a new view
the sight of a beast that was torn askew
15-14-13-12-11

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock
And my breath returned with its' tightened sigh
relieving some of the nail biting butterflies that inhabited my spirit
unbedded by a force only matched by Thoreau
And his brothers in arms of the transcendental over soul
10-9-8-7-6

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock
The bombs exploded on the backdrop of the page
with the genocide and terror spreading its' wrath
and as a show of dominance ensued yet again
a high pitched cackle and "Heil Hitler" erupted
5-4-3-2-1

And finally the bell had chimed its' last time
as the pencils clattered down on the battle ground of June
a cheer of joy echoed throughout the halls
For finally the torture of exams had ended

This poem is so eloquently written...the imagery is amazing...I feel like I'm there which is a scary thought.

Beautiful.

I was trying to round up the more prominant things I learned in my just scrumptious Sophomore year and I figured heck why don't I write a poem about the three days that ever high schooler hates.
