A fragile skeleton of a woman,
Binta bends in the winds,
seeks the Anza berry
for a bitter broth,
seeks to suckle her babe,
but the milk is gone...

gone,
with the dust in the winds

as drought dried up
even that bitter berry,
a desert bush offering,
pea sized...
kind of a manna from hell,
(unless you are starving)

and see what the drought hath wrought
not even another bitter bite
to be swallowed
by the givers of life

as Niger steals another
into the godforsaken dust

thanks for reading Phil
the effects of drought
are always bleak

but still, we send food, supplies
and Hope
ok, so maybe the next one
will be a manna write

This is well described!!!!!!1 And I like this lines:

"as drought dried up
even that bitter berry,
a desert bush offering,
pea sized...
kind of a manna from hell,
(unless you are starving)"
