Roadside Crosses

On the way to Mother’s I pass
Dual crosses, side by side,
Adorned in colors of Easter they,
In silence, shout of two who died,
And left this plane where crosses stand
Like children mourning, hand in hand.

I wonder how they spent the day
Before they drew their final breath.
The sun awoke them one last time,
Each step they took was towards their death,
And ones they loved left crosses to stand
Like children mourning, hand in hand.

Welcome. This is poignantly told.
Each sign is a visual reality checkpoint for me whenever my eyes catch them alongside the road.

This is very well done....sad and poignant, like a funeral itself. Welcome!

Yes this is where poetry is at its best, getting a message across and it does it with dignity...and with soft understanding of the those left to mourn the loss...but at the same time appraising us of the shame attached to the ''why'' of war..thank you..and may i say Welcome To Passions...hope to read more of your fine poetry  soon..

Goldenrose.

A very sad but true story that I see every
day...so many caused by drivers that have
fallen asleep...and never knew what had
happened.... Welcome to Passions, please
enjoy yourself.
