The Girl Who Loved Storms

Miles on down the highway
a storm passes another town.
I wonder if you thought of me,
what thought it was you found.

It's gone now but you know
how much I love a storm.
Once in a while I think of you
when the after-rain breeze is warm.

It's a different kind of smile
that spreads across my face,
when I remember fondly
the first time and place
we were caught in a storm together,
lost in each other without a trace.

Since then, so many days and nights of rain-
often, reminiscing has kept me sane,
my remembrances take on many forms-
the love for a man
who loved the girl who loved storms.

I love a storm ~ and I love your writing!

I find storms to be exhilarating and cleansing!
~ Mind you, I'm not referring to extreme storms!

If he has lost such a one, it's rainy weather wherever he is.

This is a completely beautiful poem....there aren't many that go into my library, but this one's heading there....and the poet who created it.

This made me weep for I, too, am a girl who loves storms.  The ions create an excitable mystery.  Very poignant - Thank you!

This seems somehow "dreamlike".  I like the "mood" of this poem.

Very Good Indeed!

This reminds me of a girl who said to me I could always come to Florida and watch a hurricane with her.

Then in my world we call a hurricane, a cyclone.

Much like the branding of two brands of fencing wire I use. One is called "Hurricane" and the other is called "Cyclone"

Different strokes for different folks, yet a storm is still a storm.

a poet who cares

Loved the title very light from the dark or perhaps its just me i love a good storm

I went to the desert on a horse with no name, it felt good to get out of the rain.

Lovely work, passing shadows.

"the love for a man
who loved the girl who loved storms"

These lines are the heartbreakers.
