this unmorning
the sun
gave up

it had barely reached
the horizon
when it poured
itself
like lava
into puddles
of light

so fierce
in its weakness
that children prayed
for night

Wow - really love this one....the comparison of dark vs. light incorporating the children/innocence vs the magnitude of the unexpected is powerful.  Superb imagery throughout - this is one of my favourites
