5456 Made from Heaven 05 June 2006 A distant view an open heart Books upon an empty shelf another understanding This place of rest whereas outside was day Framed within glass this tall peak of snow Feet rising, metres stretched small wonders, mountain tops Close and far, to feel the cold white on blue, trees void of green A forest of reality dancing on the wind Just to know was unique my home, God's own country “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.” Genesis 1:14-15 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
