Lumpy Oatmeal makes me Crazy!

0 posted 2006-07-14 02:17 AM

Where do friendships go
if they drift away?
Do they sail across oceans of tears,
drifting among the lonely?
Where do they go, I wonder.
Is there a canyon filled
with lost "i love you's",
waiting to be claimed by
those who still can love?
Are there confidential
conversations drifting in the clouds?
Do they whisper the secrets shared?
Do they get lost with angry
words twisting among them,
weighted by sharp tones
and bitter tears?
Who trips over hurt feelings
pushed off, shoved aside
as friends move away?
i just wonder,
if pride goeth before the fall,
why am i proudly falling?

What an imaginative concept, aziza!  I enjoyed this very much.  I am sure that your fall will end gently on a patch of soft, sweetly scented grass, for this poem (especially if you show it to whomever you feel you have wronged) will heal the wound.

What does ceya'ka mean?

Thank you so much, Owl.  ceya'ka is the name of my friend -- I wrote this some time ago. We have survived, learned from that time and still share the love of friends.

And what a beautiful name it is.  I'm not sure if it is pronouced phonetically, but I am saying it over and over the way I think it sounds and it slips so beautifully from the tongue.

I am so glad the friendship survived!  I thought it would have!

What a sweet poem. There is a long lost friend I've been needing to contact. Thank you.

Thank you all so much.  I was lucky with this friend and am so glad that we were able to learn and move on.  If this inspires forgiveness, I am happy!  Sometimes, we simply have to forgive ourselves in order to mend the fences.  Just a thought anyway.
