darkness encases me
and my fears take possession of my soul
i search
but cant escape from their grasp
they smother me
squeeze the breath from my chest
my eyes close
and i surrender
but her hand touches mine
she reaches into the darkness and her fingers clasp me
and pulls me into the light
my lungs fill
my heart starts
and she rescues me
her love breathes life into me

A wonderful message in this posting as all it takes is the hand of one person to eliminate a huge barrier of fear for a fellow human being.

Welcome to Passions by the way, hope you enjoy your stay.

I know the feeling of suffocation...it's overwhelming.  I could sense that when I read your poem.  Well written.
