send him my love

send him my love
as he remembers
apple orchards
and summers
of walking barefoot
in storms
before we ever knew
of wars
we had yet to fight

and lose

send him my love
in papier-mâché
crumpled words
I used to call poetry
when I read them
out loud

from memory

send him my love
in December
though
true death comes
much sooner than that
it's not soon enough

for me

That’s some heavy writing, and so, so sad.
Beautiful, but sad.
I always enjoy reading what you write Dixie.
But girl, get happy.

sometimes personal feelings can get confused, when it is good to be able to express those in poetry, even amid the contrast of life.

This one was kind of different;

Sad yet beautiful and very DEEP.

You always know how to find and touch that spot...Thanx!

.....sigh.....peace....I wish you peace. And I've yet to see written words of yours that weren't poetry, whether verse or not.
