It could almost be summer except for the night when breath exists cold from the fires of soul that once sparked within the flames of desire and danced with the beauty of feminine needs. It could almost be right except for the wrong that blankets the heart with the weight of a lie and almost, almost, the sweetness of song instead of the silence of acquiescence. It could almost be an undressing of truth, an almost renewal of spiritual vows, and almost, almost, the undeniable proof that passion can’t die like old winter fires. It could almost be the maker of peace and the almost complete reason for being and almost, almost, close enough, see, to pass me unscathed into the afterlife. It could almost be a lifestyle of choice and an almost, almost, everyday love if not for the echo and constant re-voice of the almost, so almost, you and me! Helen / 3 June 2006 |
