How could I not smile given my interaction with fire ants. I admire and respect the little  bugs, but not on my feet!!!

Mysteria,

I was feeling a bit lady buggy in the Corner Pub earlier and I do hope that none of the ladies over there got too upset. Smiles. Ants certainly are buisy creatures. Enjoyed your poem.

Some may watch the birds;
others shall smell roses...
you allow the ants to crawl
over your pedicured toeses...

it's always a good thing
to allow the little things
into your day...

enjoyed this, Sharon.

Well some might think having too much time on their hands is a bad thing, but not moi!  It's the little things in life that are the most pleasing.  I learned a lot that day from one ant.   Thanks for reading.

So cute and clever!  Yep, to have a purpose; that's the key.  Lovin' your poem;

Have a great weekend, too!

It's one of the things I admire most about you--your industrious "can do" attitude, and I confess, sometimes I think about you and feel inadequate...

and fortunately for me, another fabulous trait of yours is that nothing, not no one is inadequate!

You look a life with the wonder of a child, m'friend.

(and this is not a stupid story!)

Yup, ants are kewl teachers.        No one is inadequate, they just need a passion, a reason, an idea, some thinking space, or simply just to be asked asked to be part of another's own quest, and presto - you have the most useful person around right?

K?  I grew up on things like:

- You can do anything you put your mind to
- Carpe Diem
- The only thing holding you back is you
- Fear is the only thing between you and success
- How you treat others is how you will be treated.
- Treat today like it is your last, and the famous...
- Always kiss or hug those that mean the most to you as it may be your last chance ~ and so on, and so on.

My mother and grandmother were both great at shouting out those things all the time as positive reinforcement I think.  (To us it was torture!)  However, I naturally shouted them to Todd and thank God it seemed to have worked.     He hugs me every single time he leaves and I love it!

You know while I have this soapbox the greatest thing for me to actually see is someone who thought they couldn't, or never could actually feel how good could can really feel!

I feel like talking to myself today like Doreen, so I will leave with my all-time favorite saying to my son ...

"Remember that story of the grasshopper and the ant I told you?" I would say, and he would nod.  Then, I would say, "Well you better darn well be that ant!"  He got the message.
