All
was full
of song and dance
and one
merely
had to glance
to know
that Oz
was no place,
none at all,
but kingdom
full of
Wizard-roars
when given
adoration.
The Voice
behind a panel
spoke,
ruby slippers
nearly broke,
but Dorothy
feared
no hidden god
yanking ropes.
No, Dorothy
did not fear
unseen....
tho’ flying monkeys,
they....
were mean.
Emerald City
green-black
with mold –
deep metaphor
for truth untold.
No,
Dorothy
did not fear unseen,
for there was
Toto
to
redeem.

Click
three times
to go back home....
if only,
Marvel
was not wrong:
There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.

Yeah   Following after him can sure get you caught up in a whirlwind...but  :: sighs ::   There's so much attachment to the little "beast".  ::smiles::    No matter    You aint going no where.

LOL, Uriah....this probably doesn't make much sense, but it will to the person I wrote it for...she's wonderfully courageous you know.   ....jo

She aint going no where either.  Just the damn dog.   What one can see as courage another can see as certainty.   I may not be making sense either ...    But Hey,  These are MY concepts of the ink blots I see.  And its all in the SEEING.   ::shrugs::    ::smiles::   :: bows ::

Jo - I might not know the "reasons" but it makes for a good "reading".  Keep on gifting each other.

the inspiration here was delightful...but then, how can one "not" be inspired by such a miraculous lady...not to mention, the woman behind these words, painting such explosions of great admiration...

hugs to both of you

From you to her and back again...
with a little bit of "ozisus" in between.

Well done, Jo!

I am speechless--so I shall just type "woof" as a "thank you"---

thank you Jo Jo, Frank Bahm, Joseph Campbell, and everyone else who is living life as a Hero's Journey.

and there really is no place like home.

I don't know the reasons behind the poem, but I liked it anyway. Serenity, is that your dog? S/he looks like a nice dog.

Well, that ain't Toto--but close.

That is indeed my doggie, or one of 'em anyway--

For those of you who haven't made his acquainntence--that is Duncan a.k.a. "Freedom Fred".

Just Fred to our friends though.

Jo, Serenity,

Such a touching, touching poem!  I cannot fathom all that has been experienced from Katrina in the last year.

filled with black and white
shades of gray
yellow bricks strengthened hay
Read red slippers
blood with clay
salvation of hope
hard to say
Too challenging
seem the days.
Yet stronger becomes
the Road

Oh heck.  i wanted to say somethin pro-found and all i could think about was when the movie went from black and white to color and that, later on, for a moment, the music slowed and poppies gave the refugees rest.  (Well, yeah, I remember the little green men, too... Ok, I fess up-only had two hours of sleep so this must sound...)

cathy

Karen?  I can't wait to show you a picture of my Gemini-Crickety....I think she and Fred must have been related, except Gemmy was tan and brown with a little black and no tail.  I'll see if I can't dig up a photo -- she's long gone but, geez, I loved that dog!  luv ya lady........jojo

Thanks all for your replies...I appreciate each and every single one of 'em.  And....hey, Cathy?....I thought that was pretty good btw.

love this
talk about some magic slippers
home...where all hearts go when the wind blows too hard and makes the world move too fast
