The wooden table sits dull, the wood tarnished with age.
With books stacked three high upon the dirty glass.
The remote control slightly askew nearly falling off the edge.
A mug is sitting by its lonesome, a drip of its amber contents slides down its gleaming surface.
A light shadow lies against the murky pane of glass.
My leg extends across the gap, ancoring a bridge from the couch to the table, my toes looking up at the ceiling.
A quarter sits upon the wood glimmering in the light that shines from above.

I really liked this.  The simplicity made the setting.

for me, this inspired a painting, in black and white...each and every detail of your words, painted exactly as you described it...

well done...now, would you mind, going and physically painting this marvelous poem, it would be stunning!!!!

Kellie,

I like this, but it's a little incomplete for me. I wish the table would become more animate... something to relate to.

Just a thought from a fellow student of the art. Keep up the good work,
Deep

Vivid description....felt like I was in the living room, staring at the coffee table.
