I wish Minnesota was smoke-free, too! I wonder by what level will the pollutants in the air decrease? Congratulations on the decision your government made, Nancy, I really am happy to hear this!

That's good, Nancy. I take it you don't smoke. Here in Oklahoma, there is no smoking allowed in any of those places. It has been that way for quiet a while.

Go Canada !

Meanwhile...

In the foothills of the Blueridge Mountains...

I'm twisting up the makings so that I may feed the monkey.

He sure does like that picture of the tailor-made smoke.   : :

But...
With all sincerity...
Go Canada!!!    Yay!!!

This is a good thing, Nancy Lee!!

Even though I had the habit for years, I quit
many years ago. My lungs are still suffering
the effects, though. My doctors have told me
that when a person's heart is damaged, it can
heal itself back......but, when a person has lung
damage, it never heals itself back. I am now
suppose to use my oxygen continuosly instead of
just 12 hours a day. One of the causes, besides
asbestosis and asthma,  is smoking. I also have COPD.

You know what, though? When I was smoking almost
3 packs a day, I would get so mad when someone
would tell me it was bad for my health. Wish I
had listened to my Mom and everyone else who
told me that!!!!
Hugs,
Ethel

(big angel hugs) Awwwwwww, I can understand how you were worried some might get critical of this, dearest friend! (sigh) I guess because I've grown up with my mom, who smokes each day, with all respect I'm generally just mixed on this issue! (sigh) Many times I've asked my mother to quit because I don't want to see her suffer from lung cancer and such, but she hasn't stopped. (sigh) In second grade I swore to live a life free of all cigarettes, tobacco and substances when I was terrified and broken-hearted seeing pictures of blackened lungs brought to school and presented by the DARE organization. That made me cry and feel dizzy and I went home crying to my mom that I don't want my lungs to look like that, and she softly told me as long as I don't smoke, that will never happen! (sigh) I guess personally I will NEVER understand why people smoke, in that there's no health benefit to it (in fact totally destroys your health) and there's nothing cool and esteem-building about it, as well as that I never want my dollars to go toward greedy tobacco lobbyists who continue to exploit the health of many others, especially poor people, worldwide.......but I guess I also feel if someone 18 and over wants to slowly self-destruct their body that way, that person has every right to and I won't try taking their right away to do that! (sad sigh) It's a complicated issue, and I guess I'm respectfully mixed on this in that I wish tobacco, meth and other substances never existed, but also don't want to take someone's right to smoke anywhere in public away as long as they don't puff right into children's faces and disrespect the spaces where people want to go to a restaurant without smoking sections! (hugs) This is a wonderfully thoughtful post, dearest friend, either way I do hope that we can continue to move toward a world where our children are not victimized by corporate myths of smoking being cool and profitting off their exploitation and such, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Nancy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

its the way here in Florida too
and in certain places, no one can smoke outside within 50 feet of an entrance/exit to a building

I say that's wonderful even though I smoke (and wish I didn't), I do respect others who don't

Congratulations to Ontario.  I love blue sky, by not blue air due to smoke.  Thanks to all who consider us who do not smoke.

I'm glad for you and all of Canada, Nancy.  We have had the same legislation here in South Africa too, for some years now, thank goodness.
