A Beautiful Dawn

I've tread some of the lowest parts of human hell imaginable.
I've opened the door of death and peered to the other side.
I've collapsed within myself, from nothing more than self hatred.

Yet, something always keeps me from pushing the limitations too far.

It came to me one morning, in the not so distant past.
I sat atop a lone hill. The sky was still dark and
broadened my cynicism even further,
until a faint glow of light peaked above the horizon.

I sat and watched it grow.

In a split second, every color in the spectrum was born.
Radiant red purged in midair, to which an ornate orange emerged.
The luminosity enhanced until the soft glow of yellow was born.
From that, green sparked into a buoyancy of blue, spiraling across the sky,
until the royal shade of purple ordained this visual sensory of delight.

And then, a sudden flash of pure white completely engulfed the sky.
I shaded my eyes, for I dared not look upon such immaculacy.

That is the precise moment that evoked an incantation to bliss.
I smiled and laughed in spite of myself.
I searched for the complexity of nature.
I dove into every detail, missing the bigger picture.

It was all so simple.

A prism of color, mingles and disburses,
which radiates a brilliance in a single flash.

We upon this Earth, are a vast array of color.
We mingle, we disburse and we radiate brilliance
in a flash of compassion.

These are the true fundamental building blocks of life.

And life is good

when I think along these lines, I ponder miracles, like roses, childbirth, nature...lastly, the sea...and life is good!

tremendous tribute to the gifts at hand...

I can relate to this

I did something similar but after an extended all night party and watched the dawn

That eventually became 'Summer's Morn' as it was taken to politeness but the glory of watching a new day rise in it's heat, it colour, is what you have made me remember.
